The ROC BOYS is a tribute to the golden era of hip-hop and the raw energy of NYC’s underground dance scene. Set behind the Douglass Projects, just two blocks from the legendary Rock Steady Park, this painting captures a moment of practice, passion, and pride. The ROC BOYS—an original breakdancing crew from the 1980s—take center stage, including my cousin BILROC, pictured wearing a white polo and black cap. He was a proud member of the crew and part of the movement that shaped a generation. Graffiti tags from legends like EPIC, also my cousin, of IBM and POKE add authenticity to the scene, connecting dance and street art in a visual story of culture, resistance, and rhythm.
